Koro Inu ('black dog') was found sleeping
behind a speaker stack in a haunted dancehall, hiding from the bright glare,
when it was taken back to the presbyrterian home for unruly music.
Never to be rehomed and returned by
many foster parents for being too moody, it was looked after by the staff
of the home. Fed on a strict diet of dub (but getting it's 5 a day of renegade
soundwaves and bombed bass) and also stealing scraps off the table from
it's older 'brothers' Clodhoppa and Kovacs (they were more grown up, sensible
and ate breaks, beats and electronica).
After a few tentative steps into the outside
world, initially encouraged by the Virus B-23 rehabilitation program
(remix for Deadman DJ) and older brother Kovacs giving it remix space
on WutEva Records, Koro Inu has stepped out into the light with it's
own sound at the front. Using dub as a base at all times, Koro Inu
wanders around the musical spectrum, drawing sounds to the heavy
basslines, like Cane in Kung Fu. But with dub. These exporations can be
found on the Black Dog Dubs series of EPs, an ever expanding sprawl of
messy thoughts and tidy bass.
