Soundex

                                                                                                           Logo by Fifties

When Soundex make music they forget about convention. The dynamic duo are Vince Orr & Loz Youngs. These perverts have no problems treading the mucky path and describe their unique sound as "technical filth". The sound treads the lines between breaks, electro and excursions into downtempo instrumentals, techno, tech house and work with vocalists ... so their sound is always evolving and mutating. Hailing from Leeds and having nothing better to do than fine tune their emmissions has resulted in a disturbed mindset, they can often be found talking to half eaten kebabs and trying to stick forks into plug sockets. Their influences are getting out of their diseased heads, being geeks, having a lot of anger, lack of decent women or no women at all. With the ability to DJ properly and production skills growing by the hour they are working on their new "Soundex Live Experience".

Soundex's track On/Off is featured on the James Zabiela - Utilities 2xCD released by Renaissance.
The lads have remixed Si Begg - The Tyranny Of Pesto for the Digital Distortions label and also have a track called Axwood on the Digital Distortions DDCD.001. Their released and unreleased music has been receiving praise and support from the likes of Luke Chable, Fine Cut Bodies, Phil K, James Zabiela, Tim Simenon, Nik Mills, Product.01 and Jnr Hacksaw. Their other project - Speculum is gaining momentum with a string of live shows and a vinyl release for Luke Chable's Trojan label.

You can read a review of their live show at the I Can Count night at the Mixing Tin in Leeds here

Book them before they're too busy and expensive! Hit the button to their MySpace located at the end of this page.
